Not putting return to work date on a claim
« on: May 20, 2014, 03:28:34 PM »
Does anyone know if CareFirst BCBS claims for mental health on a hcfa will process if there is a Date Unable to Work date on the claim form but we don't have a Date Able to Return to Work yet? With the Date Able to Return empty the claims won't leave our practice management system. But I will send them a paper claim if they will process with out that date on there.

Thank you  :D

Hi Barbara,

I think you can try taking off the "From" date from that block because that date is meant to be the date from which the patient was not able to go for work because of the "Work related problem". Though the insurance plan may be through the patient's employer, but the patient's condition does not seem to be a Work related problem. So, try resubmitting the claims without the "From" date and see if that helps.
