Federal Employee Program no longer covering room board
« on: December 31, 2014, 03:20:37 PM »
Good morning.
I bill for a PRTF and received word that the Federal Employee Program for BCBS will no longer cover Room and Board Charges, which we bill on a UB under a daily rate that includes therapy and psychiatric services.
Would it be ok to break down the rev codes to 919 and bill the daily rate for just the room/board and also list 914, 915 and 916 to reflect the therapy sessions that occurred while in the facility?

Thanks for your help.

Where did you hear that the BCBS FEP program is no longer covering room and board?  The website shows for 2015 that inpatient room and board are covered:  http://www.fepblue.org/en/benefit-plans/so-benefit-tables/.  For Standard they will consider "Inpatient Hospital/Facility room and board and other inpatient services" with a $250 admission copayment, pre-cert is required for PPO providers.
