Affordable Care Act Mandates for Mental Health Providers
« on: October 12, 2013, 10:25:09 PM »
Hi guys, just wanted to know if there are any ACA mandates specifically for Mental Health providers? I keep hearing that case notes have to be done in electronic format beginning Jan 1st, however I can't find anything official.

Thanks for the help!

No, the only exceptions are in regards to EHR and psychotherapy notes.

The ACA will not differentiate between a mental health provider or any other. You should review contracts and patient up front collection practices as any other provider would be with the ACA.
