Coding for accugraph testing
« on: June 03, 2010, 03:19:52 AM »
My chiropractor is asking about accugraph testing.

It is a test of accupuncture points etc. Prints a nice graph.

As far as I know there is no code for this system to bill - but I was told there should be a code for everything.

For this type of testing is there a generic code that would be usefull or is there a specific code for it -

Does anyone know if it would even be worth it? Will it get paid at all or just all denials.

Thanks!

I have never heard of this.  If this is a new procedure.  It's not listed as a catagory three code so you may bill it as an unlisted procedure and shadow the report with the bill.  Doubt it wil get paid

I don't see a code assigned yet either.  Most likely, especially with no code assigned yet, insurance carriers will deem it experimental and investigational and it will not be covered.
