i have read the reviews, but we are looking into purchasing a new billing software only.  we are mental health.   any suggestions would be great.  our program now, is a "get what you pay for" imo.   reports that should be basic are not part of our program.  I would appreciate any information and if it helps, we use Gateway EDI as our clearinghouse.

Are you a single practice or a billing service?  We have used Lytec for 19 yrs and it's not bad.  I have used other softwares.  The only think I would like different is if it were web based.  But it could be for more money!!  Anyway, it's the only software I can honestly comment on.  But I would also like to comment on your clearinghouse.  I've never personally used Gateway EDI but I have known people that have.  If I'm correct there are some hefty fees aren't there?  I have no connection to and receive nothing from them, but Office Ally has been a wonderful clearinghouse for us and they are free!  I have used many clearinghouses over the past 19 yrs from sending direct (acting as my own clearinghouse) to WebMD.  Office Ally is by far the best I've used, not just because it's free.  I love their customer support and their reports.  I've also used Availity which is free as well.  They were good too.  Office Ally just had more of my payers and I found the reports easier.  Just wanted to mention that.

we are a practice of a medical psychologist, psychologist, and lpc's.  i have used gateway edi for about 6 years.  i have no problems with them and there is a monthly fee for around 200 per month.  thanks for your opinions.  I will look into them.

SLITTLES:
I use Total MD and love them.  They charge per user, however the amount of providers, offices, etc are unlimited.  Reports are fully customizable and their support is A++
