: Help....Please.....taxomony code LICSW
: kwardbilling January 16, 2010, 12:28:51 PM
Hi, I am hoping someone can help me.  I have just started submitting claims electronically and they require a taxomony code.  I am doing billing for a LICSW who specializes in indiv., family and couples therapy.  Can anyone tell me a good taxomony code to use.  I've tried a couple and been refused.  I know they are given one when they applied for their NPI, but she no longer has the documentation and I haven't been able to get an answer from insurance company?  Thanks for any help.

Her taxonomy will show on the NPI website.  Just go to:

https://nppes.cms.hhs.gov/NPPES/NPIRegistryHome.do

Scroll down and click on "individual provider", then type their NPI in the box and click on search.  When their info is displayed, scroll down, and you will see her taxonomy code.

Most LCSW's are 1041C0700X.
