Lytec Software - Pending claims list
« on: September 17, 2010, 01:30:00 PM »
Hi, I'm new to the site. I was told by my supervisor that it is quite informative and helpful. I'm a new billing clerk (6 months now) and working my way around billing and the lytec software farely well. I usually follow up with my insurance companies from my "pending claims report" printed from the Lytec software.  Sometimes when we get one large insurance check for several patients we go to the "Billing" tab and then select "Apply Insurance payment". However, this past month I'd noticed that when we use this method the Pending claims report still has some of those patients billings as outstanding.  Can anyone help me with ensuring that my report is accurate? Thanks in advance.

I have not used Lytec in years so I can't really help you but I know there are some Lytec users here somewhere. I am curious though as to why this would "suddenly" start happening. Is there someone new posting payments? Maybe there is a problem with the data entry?

Well my supervisor and myself are both new to billing really, so we're still "getting the feel" of lytec and we'd just 'uncovered' this method of posting numerous payments from one check. Thanks for your reply.

I have used Lytec for years.  I agree with Linda, if the data that you are getting out isn't accurate the most likely cause is that the data isn't being input correctly.  It's really hard to be sure with the info you've given, but I have found in my personal situation that when the data isn't accurate it's either because we didn't input something correctly, or we aren't running the correct report for the data we are seeking.

I am currently using Lytec 2010 version and am finding that it has glitches.  Call your vendor for support on these issues and give them the step by step details.  They should be able to help you.

I'm finding Lytec 2010 has a few 'glitches'.
1) Couldn't access via a particular user and when we go in to activate and save it again, it doesn't take.
2) Updated a provider id and it would save and revert back (Var logged in & said DUH 'I've never seen this before').  Had to delete & recreate
