PATIENT BALANCE
« on: November 13, 2011, 11:21:51 PM »

CERTAIN BC IS OON FOR OUR FACILITY. I KNOW THE PATIENT'S DEDUCTIBLE & COINSURANCE ARE MUCH HIGHER THAN IT WOULD BE FOR IN NETWORK. THE PATIENT RESPONSIBILITY PR-45 ENDS UP BEING THE FULL AMOUNT BILLED. DO THEY OWE THAT OR JUST THEIR OON DEDUCTIBLE & COINSURANCE. ALWAYS CONFUSED ON THIS.

I guess you need to go by what your EOB says. If it says full amount, that should be it.

I agree.   if oon, look at the eob and it will tell you how much applies towards the deductible.   the remaining is pt resp. also because of oon.

If you are OON then the pt responsibility would be the full amount billed.
