: First timer - too soon to sign up a provider?
: ReliefMedBill February 11, 2015, 01:28:44 PM
Hello everyone,

I'm so excited! I have my first medical billing client!

I have a signed contract with the client and want to get her entered into Office Ally. I want to make sure I'm not crossing lines by being over-eager. Our contract billing date doesn't begin until Monday, but I haven't used Office Ally before and want to become familiar with the system.

We've done other business with the client for the past five years, so I am not concerned about her no longer wanting the service, I just want to make sure I'm OK with entering her in a billing system to get started.

Thanks so much for your help, I can't believe all of the valuable information I've already found!

Warmest regards,
Stephanie

I can't see a problem with it if you have demographics to enter. Just make sure you don't bill out or do anything prior to the date of service/contract begin.

First medical billing client.  Haven't used Office Ally before.  So - a question:  does the new client already have an Office Ally acount set up - and you are going to be using that?

If not, you are going to need to set up an Office Ally account for your new client.  That will involve your client's signature on a document for Office Ally, your client's signature on a document for Practice Mate (where you will be entering patient data), plus you will need to fill out an on-line form for your client - name, address, NPI numbers, EIN #, etc.

If you need help, let us know.

I agree, I was assuming she had all that since she was just waiting for the begin date of the contract.   I give all clients a matrix which has everything I need on it for them to fill out. I also have them give me a copy of their office and financial policy as well as P&P, and all contracts / fee schedules with carriers they par with. All these years later and it still amazes me how many physicians don't have any of these!
