Medisoft V17
« on: February 16, 2011, 11:48:21 PM »
So I'm looking to buy the Medisoft V16 BUT transitioning into V17 is coming up soon for most billing offices. Since V17 is out and could be bought, should I just invest in getting the V17 Medisoft? Does anyone use this program and if so, could they kind of let me know what they've heard about the transition and how it'll work for both new and current clients?

Thanks  ;D

If you have been using Medisoft and like it then why not just wait for the upgrade? However if you are just starting out, I would first have to ask is this the only one you have reviewed? What other ones did you review? What is your experience with PM Software, that would sort of help with my opinion. Overall I left Medisoft a while ago, but I still have client's that insist on using it and well, I am just not a big fan. There are just so many others out there, I think most go with Medisoft because it's well know.. and this is JUST MY OPINION but I think they are so well-known for their "price"  :-\  AGAIN this is JUST MY OPINION! I'm not bashing the company at all.

It's ok I like opinions :)
Hope others aren't so shy to let me know what they've experienced.

I have using Medisoft for the past three years; yes the reason why i'm using it is because it is well-known. I have looked over Lytec/Kareo/Altapoint/Visionary/and one other... I know there are most likely more but again I chose medisoft since I was using it prior to starting anything.

I liked Kareo. BUT i don't feel too comfortable about the "web-based" technology yet. I'm under 30 and still rather have paper and simplicity w/out the web :)

Which other ones are there? Could you or someone let me know of a few others to review over?

YES this was me a few years ago.. was NOT sold on web based at all.. HOWEVER what I found was that the providers I was marketing to, WERE ready. I did NOT want to lose clients because of my own lack of understanding or opinions .. so I switched around my marketing and became very diversified in utilizing the software those potential clients already had. I have seen a LOT of billers walk away from potential clients simply because they wanted the biller to utilize THEIR software OR the client actually wanted a web based software.

Just one more opinion and I would say this even if you were utilizing a different software.  Don't limit yourself just because Medisoft is all you have known. The practice management software industry has really exploded over the last few years and there are some great programs out there. If you were previously using the software in a doctors office, then you need to think outside the box as to what your clients will want to see in regards to reports. I'm assuming you are starting your own business? It really is different when you are going to try and use ONE software for all clients. I found it very beneficial to know a diverse amount of PM systems over the years as it's increased my marketability. :)   Once you get past your own hangups like I did, then it gets easier.

I AGREE AGAIN WITH LINDA-  IT WILL TAKE A LITTLE TIME, BUT RESEARCH AS MUCH AS YOU CAN.   ONCE YOU FIND A PROGRAM YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH, YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU TOOK THE TIME.
