Is there a a universal directory of healthcare providers?

Hi,
I have heard recently about a universal directory of healthcare providers that is in the works. Are you familiar with that? If so, can you tell me what kind of information will be provided or where to go to find it?
I came across a provider who is interested in working part-time for a separate organization and would like to keep their 'outside' activities private but they are concerned about privacy issues.

Hi Randy,
I've only heard about the universal directory for NPI numbers. Is that what you are referring to? I think it will list only the NPI numbers of all doctors registered. I haven’t heard of anything else. The address for the NPI numbers is https://nppes.cms.hhs.gov/NPPES/NPIRegistryHome.do
