BCBS prefixes
« on: December 06, 2010, 10:55:41 PM »
Help Please

I know you have to bill with a prefixes, IS it a Z for LCSW, Q for LPC and LMFT?

If most of the office is LCSW do all claims go under that or each claim you have to make sure has the prefixes for LPC and LMFT.

What happens if you don't add it?

Thank you

Are you talking about the Alpha pre-fixes for the insured's ID?
Those depend on your local BCBS.

Not sure what you mean by specialty?

I am not sure what you mean, either.

If you are talking about insurance id, yes you must use entire id number including alpha prefix.

If you are talking about rendering provider, What does your contract say?  How was the contract signed by provider?
