Focus Group for Billing Services
« on: October 17, 2013, 11:33:03 PM »
For those of you who have billing services, would you be willing to share what you need in a product that you do not now have? (practice management)  No need to mention names of products. Just if you "could have it all" what would you like to have.

It's crazy that this isn't already part of our software, but a way to search our claims by CPT code would make life so much easier. It would let us see what gets paid, and how much gets paid at a glance instead of having to root around for a claim to compare to. This would also provide us with feedback to give to our providers so they know if a particular procedure is a good use of limited appointment time (e.g. if it's not giving much help to the patient and it pays nothing, why continue to do it?), and to know more easily which payers are reimbursing at the highest rates.

I think this is a REALLY tough question to ask. I've been through 6 software companies before I found the one I think is the best fit for me.

Good example.   I can't IMAGINE a software I could not do a search or report by CPT.

I was not a big fan of auto-posting when it came out.. but later on after being with a software company I THINK hit the nail on the head with this.. I'm now a believer.  BECAUSE I charge flat fee which is based on time. I run reports on time management all the time.. this feature alone has given me back 6-7 hours a month! I spent many hours trying to show it was NOT efficient when it fact where I was with my software it was.  Auto posting is now a feature that I think will vary on quality BY vendor. I'm very happy with Kareo and their auto posting.. so much time I save now.

If your software has a way to create customized reports, you should be able to create one that will search based on CPT.  My software is that way.  There is not an "official" report based on the CPT, but I can create one.

That's kind Of what I was trying to say!..  GOOD DATA IN is good data OUT. You can have the worlds worst software but your reports will be driven based on the data YOU put in. The BEST software in the world may not be any good without proper data going in, just like you can make the WORST software in the world produce what you want it to produce!
