How to convience an out-of-state physician
« on: December 21, 2011, 08:42:55 PM »
Hello out there. I have a physician that is located in a different state and needs my company to do her billing. This physician is currently using a software called Eclipse (I am not too familiar with this one) and she wants my software to be compatible with hers. The problem is, I use a different billing software for my current clients. And I also found out that this Eclipse software is not sold to Billing Companies, so I couldn't even invest in this software if I wanted to. There is no compatibility. Does anyone have any suggestions on how we could get over this hurdle? Should I suggest LogMeIn or GoToMyPC? Or just a complete conversion over from her software to my current billing software?

Please Help..... :-\

I don't know I can answer this FOR you, however I don't push my software on clients and I've never turned a client away due to software or geographical reason.. its too competitive out there to do that. I've worked on many PM softwares so I have not come across one I either didn't know or couldn't learn on.  Today's clients need their billing companies to be diversified and that means we need to be ready to work with whatever setup they have going on.   IMHO conversions are messy and rarely full proof. The only time I will try and sell a provider is if they are on an outdated software or things are just such a mess where I can do a "manual'' conversion, and even still if they want to stick with what they have setup, I'll get on board with it most times.   JMHO

Yes you are right. Conversions can be a headache and they are not full proof. The location I have no problem with. I just need to figure out how to be more diversified for this physician. This will be my first out-of-state client, just want to be able to come with ideas of working with her incompatible software. Turning her down is not an option.

None of the PM software are going to be compatible. You can do remote login in various ways and work off their system. The only down side is learning a new software but there is an upside.. upside is they know what reports will be generated and it's an easy sell because they are maintaining control.

That's what I was seriously considering...remote log in. Learning a new software should not be that difficult for me.
Thanks for your advice.
