Getting Credentialing Help
« on: April 17, 2011, 11:49:48 AM »
Hi

I am a fully licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working for a state agency. I want to start doing some private practice on the side perhaps even move completely to private practed.

I not only need help getting my CAQH number but also getting in network with two key insurance companies- Tricare and United Healthcare.

I know you guys provide credentialing help with CAQH but do you also provide help with private insurance? I don't want this getting out locally until I actually start working part time in private practice because our agency administration has not exactly been pleased with previously licensed staff seeking credentialing in the past.

Thanks

QueenAlicia

Have you called Tricare directly to find out what they may need?  Also there are different divisions of tricare.  I have tricare insurance and I know it is different from other insurances.

One thing to remember with United Healthcare, in my area anyway, is that you need to be credentialed with United Behavioral Health, not UHC.

with UBH, you must go to their website and input your information to find out if they are credentialling in your area.   I just had to do this!!!!   With Tricare, there are approx. 3 steps to getting final credentialling status.  It takes a little bit with Tricare, because they do complete and thorough background checks, (just did this too).

What state are you in?
