finding reimbursement rates
« on: February 07, 2012, 11:05:40 PM »
I have a client who is thinking of moving to another state.  She's asked me if I thought I could still bill for her when she gets established in her new location.  I said yes - even though not sure at this point if it would be too complicated, but I know lots of people do that.  However, first she's asked me to do some research for her.  Her practice involves a high percentage of Medicaid patients since most are special needs children.  I've tried looking up reimbursemnt rates in the state Medicaid websites without any luck.  Does anyone have a suggestion of how I can find out?  My client is a speech therapist and she's planning to hire OT's and PT's too.
thank you

based on past experience, i would call the medicaid provider relations department and ask them to send you the most recent fee schedules -- unfortunately the medicaid plans i've worked with don't have their fee schedules online, they'll probably have to mail or maybe even email it to you.

hope this helps :)

What state are you in? I think each state will be different but some, like mine, you can go online and retrieve the states medicaid manual and it should tell you whether or not they have a fee schedule lookup on  their website. Ours is on the medicaid website under fee schedules or I can search for a specific rate on their Online Fee Lookup...hope that helps.
