: fanfan1 June 09, 2011, 01:34:13 AM
Hello to all

i know to open an IDTF for INTRAOPERATIVE Monitoring  i will need an MD to supervise. If in case i can't find an MD, Could a Neurophysiologist Technologist, Physician assistant, or Social worker can supervise an IDTF. Also since i'm in the process to open an IDTF next year, could you tell me what should i do next  after i got my  EIN, and Busisnees ID #.

Thank you so much.

You need to check with your state/local laws on what is required for supervision.  I can't answer that one.

After getting your EIN/Bus ID you should consider which insurance carriers you want to get in network with and start contacting them.

Hi Michele, how are you? thank you for answering my questions. What i meant by supervise MD is that i know medicare requested in other to file the IDTF i will need a medical director, so i would like to know if the medical director has to be a medical doctor or a physician assistant. Also Michele, you said after getting my EIN, and Bus # i  should consider which insurance carrier i want to be in network with, what i want to know, can i start getting in touch with insurance company even though i don't have an office space yet, and  can i use my home  address for all correspondents with insurrance company,  and even with medicare.

Thank you Michele

I love this website and i'm going to be doing business with you guys for a long time.

Medicare will not accept the application without the physical location.  I'm not sure on the other carriers.  You can contact them and find out, but in my opinion I don't think many will credential without a physical location.  On the supervision, again, I'm really not sure.  I would look at the Medicare application in the section on supervising physician.  You can find it at:  http://www.cms.gov/CMSforms/downloads/cms855b.pdf
