Latest Medicare Excuse
« on: October 06, 2009, 06:34:20 PM »
Hello,

You may have read of my plight for the last year attempting to get Medicare Part A claims filed and paid.  We are a mental health facility, and because of us having PHP level, we have to file Part A.  We received Medicare audit trails the end of August showing our claims were accepted, but we are now told
they are in suspense.  In addition, they now have 45 more days before pmt.  I'm wondering how they will delay paying us then!
We have 98 claims in suspense!  I am so frustrated because it seems nobody at Medicare knows why, and they say there's nothing we can do.  I think
since it is a large amount, it is a tactic to delay payment.  Medicare must have a "wizard" like in the "Wizard of Oz" and no one can reach him.
According to the news on t.v., Medicare is in good shape.  No wonder!  They don't pay their bills!
Thank you for listening to me vent.  As you can tell, I'm beyond frustration!

I have never billed Part A, but I have had issues with Part B for some clients, not usually but it happened. I had a client who's claims were being held and we couldn't even get a reason, 6 months later after calling them nearly every day they then denied them for late filing and we had to appeal them and show they were being held. It was very frustrating. NORMALLY and OVERALL Medicare is probably the easiest to bill and get payment on of all the carriers I bill. Go figure!
