has anyone used availity for providers and if so how do you like it and any negatives involved ?

We have used, and still use Availity for electronic claims.  We have switched most over to Office Ally, because they have more payors that we need.  We didn't have any issues with Availity, but I do like Office Ally better.  Both are free, both are easy.  Office Ally has better reports, and better customer service.
