« on: August 04, 2015, 10:35:10 AM »
Hi All,

I hope you all are doing good. This is my post after a long time.Could you please suggest me the payers which are easier or tougher to get credentialed . OR the ones who deny claims often.

Any advice would be appreciated

That's a loaded question.. too vague.
closed panels could be due to specialty, and other things.
Payors good.. Medicare actually is best payor, I only have one client left taking Medicare
Medicaid worse

Again, the question is too vague as it really depends on so many other variables.

Hi Linda,

Thank you for response. I agree with you, it depends on lot of variables. Without analysis and key metrics no one can blame a commercial payor. And as you said Medicare is the best and Medicaid the worst, that's what most of the professionals believe. But Medicaid in NJ pays for behavoral health I have heard.

Thanks,
Ango

All Medicaid plans must cover mental health. With the ACA plans must have coverage of essential health benefits, which include mental health and substance use disorder services. They also must comply with parity law meaning mental health must be covered as any other illness.
