H codes
« on: April 25, 2008, 03:54:27 PM »
Is there a standard unit of measure for some of the substance abuse H codes (H0011 or H0015)?  Some behavioral health H codes state they are per diem, but others do not list what time or frequency one unit of the code represents.  I am referencing a 2003 HCPC book, so forgive me if my info is outdated.

Thanks,
Jennifer

The description of the HCPCs do not state what the units are except H0015 which states:

Alcohol and/or drug services; intensive outpatient (treatment program that operates at least 3 hours/day and at least 3 days/week and is based on an individualized treatment plan), including assessment, counseling; crisis intervention, and activity therapies or education

I tried to research it and found the following:

H0010 & H0011 are 1 unit = 1 day

H0015  1 unit = 1/2 day

No info on units for H0012, H0013 or H0014

Hope that helps.
