Subcontracting With Another Medical Billing Company
« on: June 26, 2013, 09:23:41 PM »
My partner and I have delved into the medical billing industry for ourselves, and we have yet to sign our first client. We're trying to look into other options as well, such as subcontracting with another medical billing company. Does anyone know of the best way to get involved in a partnership like this? Any referrals, tips, or advice for nailing that first doctor? Any help would be appreciated!

Getting your first client is definitely the hardest part of this business.  In fact, most underestimate how hard it actually is.  How long have you been trying and what techniques have you tried?  It helps more if you share a little with us to see what you've tried and how long you've been at it.

Can you also share with us your levels of expertise so that we can offer some help.
It is always difficult to start..whether it is medical billing or doing graphic design. And you want to be sure to only start with one client, so that you make mistakes on one..not on 10. I remember years ago, when a man called me to tell me that he signed a medical group with 10 medical providers. This was his first and he had not a clue what to do. I suggested that he not take on the client at this point. Someone had told him that this was a data entry business..so he purchased software and thought he would rake in the money.
I am just sharing this (a true story) as an example of what CAN happen.
As Michele asked above..please share with us what you have been doing to get your clients..and your backgrounds. Hopefully we can be of help.
