: Residential treatement

We are starting to bill for a rehab (IP) facility, who is planning to be OON (except BCBS of NJ). Any advice and specifics?

Thanks!

OON providers are tough when it comes to billing unless they collect their fees up front.  Most insurances will pay directly to the patients and will not give you much info over the phone.

Michele is right. Be sure your office has a very STRONG financial and office policy that each patient is presented with. Make sure you collect all payments up front!!  Watch BCBS of NJ contracts .. they love hidden clauses and make it really difficult to get out of or negotiate down the road.  Best advice .. COLLECT ALL FEES UP FRONT AND AT TIME OF SERVICE if you are going to be OON.
