Home Health Medicare Claims Procedure
« on: December 26, 2011, 07:25:48 PM »
hi All,

Im learning the steps and procedure in Medicare claims for Home Health Billing but I dont know where to start. I have been reading a lot of information's but Im still confuse of how to learn it in a right way. My questions is:

I know the the claims is filled to a MEDICARE through EDI. Going to the MEdicare (CMS) site you will need to have a login/username. Since Im new and I dont have a providers ID number. Is there a way that I can learn this by navigating the site since I dont have a login? Is there a site and links out there that I can go or use to practice how to file a claim electronically on Home Health?

I know that I will need to have the At & T VPN then the IVANS portal before I can get in to the CMS/medicare.

Any help is greatly appreciated...

PLEASE help and God Bless.

Thanks.

Michele

I'm not sure what CMS you are trying to access.  In order to enroll in EDI you must have a PTAN number, but you wouldn't need to login.  Claims are submitted directly to the intermediary, not to CMS.  What system are you trying to log in to?

Thanks Michele for the reply and answer. I do really appreciate it.

Intermediary (Cahaba and NGS)

I’m trying to get an account to NGS so I can practice and navigate. Is that possible? I don’t have a PTAN number since I’m a beginner trying to learn the basics and fundamentals. I guess, I based it through what I saw about the procedure. I’m trying to learn it from the beginning and scratch since I don’t have knowledge on it.

Is a there a site, links, flowchart and a process cycle for the Home Health billing and claims on the web that will give me more basic, fundamentals, introduction then in depth knowledge? I am dying to learn it.

I am reading all the materials in the cms.gov in regards to this matter (Home Health Billing and Claims) but its like learning a chess without the game board. I wanted to apply what I learn but how will I do that if I don't have the system to practice on.

I am very happy when I saw this site 3 days ago and I signed up immediately. I’m very thankful for the people like you that open and share your knowledge to the individual like me, that’s trying to learn this process.

Please Help, any kind and sort of help is greatly appreciated.

GOD bless to all of you.

Michele

I'm still confused as to what system you are trying to get into to practice on.  Is it the PCACE software to submit claims?
