Laboratory codes
« on: April 14, 2011, 04:32:25 PM »
Does anybody know if Medicare pays for codes 87110 and 87081?  We keep getting denied as 'this provider was not certified /eligible to be paid for procedure'  eventhough we are billing them with a valid Clia #.
Thanks in advance for your help

Both are reimbursable codes.  Have you called customer service to make sure the clia # was received on the claim or to inquire exactly what is wrong?  That is what I would do.

I did and they told me the provider's clia is not certified for these tests.  Thank you Michele!

Does the provider have a CLIA Waiver, and are these tests not CLIA waived tests??
