Does anyone have or recommend sales reps work for them (commission only) to bring in new accounts?

No way, no how!
Years ago this became sort of a rage. marketing companies were popping up all over the place and many billing companies lost their shirts. NO one knows your business like you. You should have complete control over how you are sold. These unscrupulous marketing companies would tell you their plan and do another.. promising clients free computers, services the BC didn't do, telling doctors they would get paid in 7 days on all claims.. etc
Some of these marketing companies got busted after scamming millions of dollars.. some didn't and closed one company to go to another..

Also, if I were a doctor, I would never hire someone who had to have someone else market them. I want to talk and be heard by the person who will be handling my income. JMO

One thing we did when we first started was hire someone to go on appointments with us.  This is different then a marketing company, but it helped us.  We hired another billing service owner who was from a different area, and we went with him on the appointments.  We had little marketing experience when we started and it helped tremendously to see someone with experience and how they handled themselves on the appointment.  The key was we were with them, so nothing was said or promised that we weren't aware of and agreed to.  I know this is a little unorthodox but we had lots of billing experience, lots of business experience, not much marketing experience. :(  That gave us just what we needed to handle all future appointments on our own.  :)
