: Medical Billing Subcontracts
: jyoung65 April 25, 2012, 08:07:21 PM
Hello,

I have a partnership with another medical billing company. I have a pending contract with a speech and hearing practice. If I get the contract I will need to subcontract some of it to the other medical billing company. I am not sure how to pay a subcontractor. Please give me any advise, I am open for suggestions.

Thanks in advance for your feedback. :)

Are you going to be dividing up the work from the one account?  I would think if you will both be doing the work you will have to find a way to determine how much each of you are doing.  Like is it 50/50?  or is it more like 75/25?  Since it sounds like you are the one who is getting the contract, you may want to get something for that.  So even if the work is split 50/50 you may want to take a higher cut?  We did this once a while back but it was when we were charging a %.  We didn't do any of the work, just got the account.  We took 1% and gave the service doing the work the rest.

I am thinking about splitting the work 50/50, so do you think 60/40 would be fair? Thanks for your feedback!

I would think so since the account is yours.
