Website and Facebook
« on: November 22, 2010, 05:11:21 PM »
I have two questions for you guys...

First one: Should you state on your website that you do not promote offshore medical billing?  I had a company contact me from India stating that they could help me market my business. I did not respond becuase I plan to do this myself, however I  am a little ticked because I do not support offshore medical billing or any outsourcing to India be it customer service for huge companies, etc. Should I state this on my website and on my facebook page?

#2: Do you have facebook pgs or other social networking site for your businesses?

#1  JMO, but putting "all work proudly performed in the USA" or something to that effect would make me more likely to use your service!  I've been going out of my way to do that whenever possible!

#2 Again, JMO, but I regard Facebook as a social thing and would not mix business with social networking.  I envision all sorts of "fishing" problems with Facebook in the future.  Your information will not be safe.

I'm a bit more brash and to the point. I absolutely make NO apologies for stating I don't endorse, promote, use, advertise or engage in any business with offshore companies in any way-shape-or form. My business facebook page even says it. <sigh> however it doesn't stop them from trying, they are bold, arrogant in their marketing and down right annoying, I won't even give them the satisfaction of reading their emails and I can spot the offshore ones a mile away. I even set my spam filter to filter out/black list certain things that tell me they are offshore. It's already upsetting enough that we have American billing associations who have no problem listing members offshore to promote their business.
I don't mind being politically incorrect at all.   I also make it known on my website and it sure doesn't hold me back.

Well obvisously its best to  keep seperate personal and business facebook pages. I think  by having a social page for a business it helps.  It just bothers me that these offshore billing companies try and sneek their ways in trying to do business and what not.

Linda- I too don't mind being politically incorrect  ;D

I do have separate facebook for business and personal.. definitely good advice.  It does get annoying that others don't follow that advice and when I log on my business facebook it gets quite annoying to weed through all the farmville, mafia wars, and all those other "personal applications". I setup filters so that I don't get them, but it still gets a bit annoying when people mix both business and professional.
