: Medicare application fee waiver
: melissa_2004 April 09, 2012, 12:41:45 PM
Hi group,

I have an office that has recently completed their Medicare application to begin seeing Medicare patients.  There is a $523 fee for the office however they were told there is a waiver application they can submit to request the fee waived due to hardship or something along those lines.  Is anyone familiar with this waiver or has submitted this waiver request for a provider?

Thanks!

Is this for a supplier app?  The 855S?

You wrote 855B but the supplier app is 855S.  Anyway, non physician providers do have an application fee now for Medicare.  Suppliers have an application fee no matter what.  I am not familiar with the waiver for hardship but I'm aware that one exists.  If it is a supplier app I would contact NSC to find out about the waiver.
