Pay for Charge Entry
« on: April 04, 2016, 10:15:39 AM »
I need a little help. I have a charge entry person that is paid a set amount to key charges for a clinic. Recently, I was asked to add coding. I work with a certified coder, so she took on the task. There are not very many and she charges by the "charge". Its hospital coding( so per day coded). She asked about more work and thought to let her key the claims she is coding. The other person is doing clinic and does not quite understand all of the differences between output and inpt claims. Finally, my question...can any suggest pay or share their insight. Its never the same amount per month in terms of volume. She get a $1.75 for the coding, but Im stumped on how much to actually key the charge detail for billing???

How about an hourly charge for keying the charges?  That doesn't require their coding knowledge, it's just overflow work.
