Some question on choosing a right billing partner
« on: August 23, 2016, 12:07:08 PM »
Hi All,

I have composed some Pre and Post billing questions to help practices find the right company. It'd be great if you could review this post and add your suggestions.

I can promise you that I will be adding your comments in our next blog.

Here's a link to review the post. You can add your feedback in the comments or here

Thanks in advance

Honestly, I find the questions and explanations to the questions to be confusing to a layman, extremely wordy(and worded poorly, with spelling and grammar errors), and in some cases, just not accurate. Like this, for rejected claims: "From sloppy documentation to issues such as up-coding/under-coding, there are numerous reasons why your claim could get rejected."

Documentation and up-coding/under-coding are not two reasons claims get REJECTED...but they are two reasons why a claim that has been denied or pended for review and is being appealed/has an ADR out on it might not get paid, or might get paid at a different level then was submitted. There is a difference, and that difference is not accurately represented.

I have been in this business for over 20 years, and I can tell you that 99% of the providers I bill for would not understand most of what you have written in your post. They don't know an RVU from a hole in the ground. They just want to know in simple language that their claims will be paid. While I can appreciate the use of "industry nomenclature"(to be wordy myself) it doesn't necessarily translate to your target audience. Simplify, simplify, simplify.

Sorry to be so harsh, but that is my honest opinion of what I read on your website. While I can appreciate what you are trying to convey to potential clients, it really is too much to take in, and needs some serious editing/proof-reading.

Kristin, thank you very much for your feedback. Trust me, i love honest answers. I am not into billing so it's pretty messed up.

I would like some more help on this.

Way too long and like Kristen said too wordy. 23 Reasons is way too long and I admit you lost me after the 3rd one. If your potential market is physicians your going to lose their interest also. I would condense these and maybe do 10 reasons and not make it so long. The average web browser (person) won't stay on that page more than 2 min as is. Keep it simple, short and sweet.

Thank you Linda for your feedback, i really appreciate it. But I do not see a spelling mistake or a grammar error. i agree it's wordy as Kristin said.

I want practices to know as much as they can about their partner, before signing up. As you know billers are required to be more skilled with EMRs. I hope you would have checked the importance of analytics. How important is to get reports from the EMR if you do not use a specific reporting tool integrated with the system. And even if you know, most of them demand analytical skills.

We have a client who had us answered 50 questions before signing up with us. So sometimes it is important to clarify as much as one can and i have used images to make it easier.

Another suggestion is to take and just give 10 reasons but offer the rest in exchange for signing up with your mailing list if you have one. Could be a good lead generator. Giving something in exchange for their email address will give you leads for future marketing. Yes many will sign up just for the other 13 reasons, however you will be marketing regularly using this list and you never know when you'll hit the right prospect with the right topic.
