Hi Everyone:  I've been logging on here and there, but my business really picked up and haven't had a lot of time to browse.  Anyway, just wanted to log on and wish everyone a very happy, healthy and prosperous new year!!

Thanks everybody!  Karen, welcome back and congrats!  We hate to see when someone doesn't get on but if it's because they are busy - we understand and are happy for you!  If you have any tips for others as to how they can get busy please share!

Hi Michelle:  The only advice I think I can give is to NOT quit....my daughter is a graphic artists...she kept telling me you have to think of your advertising as an investment, if you don't invest in marketing you won't be successful.  I didn't go to the extremes she wanted me to go to, but I kept sending out mailings and then following up with phone calls......also, one piece of advice my girlfriend gave me, who is a Dr.'s assistant in a plastic surgeons office, was to (also something I learned on this site), bring FOOD !!  People love when you bring in goodies.....that worked for me, one gentlemen called me after I delivered candy to his office and said "I don't eat candy, but the thought was so nice I want to give it back to you and I want to talk about your service", he is now my largest customer....don't give up!!

I went from 1 clinician to 4 (I have another full time job at our local high school), hoping to increase and retire from the high school as early as possible. (carries my benefits, health insur. etc)  We'll see, time will tell.

I also wanted to tell you, (I was the winner of the competition for the medicare book), and I just submitted my first application for another new clinician of mine, and was successful!!  Thanks.

I am now going to be submitting claims for her to medicare, which I haven't had to deal with much yet...so hopefully no problems going forward.  Anyway, I'm hoping to get on this site more often .....I really do find it helpful.  I would love to come to NY to see your operation, but unfortunately that's not something I can afford .....maybe some day.

Happy New Year

Thanks for sharing Karen.  I'm sure your post will help others!  Glad the Medicare book was helpful.  Once you do one, it gets easier and easier.

Best wishes for your retirement!

Karen Congratulations on your success.  I will appreciate if you share the secrets of how you manage Job and 4 clients. Are you doing all by yourself or you have help. Like you and I there are many people who cannot quit the job but want to grow and cannot afford employee at this stage. Your Marketing ideas are really great.

No employees, just me.  I work a lot, my children are grown and out of the house, my daughters and grandchild live out of state, widowed at early age, trying to increase income, which will allow me to visit my children/grandchildren alittle more.

No secrets, just a lot of hard work.....:)
