Is anyone part of AMBA?
What are the advantages?
-
Have you gone to their website?
I was like you and really almost got caught up in associations, certification, buying all kids of books etc. What I would do is email the AMBA owner and ask them the benefits of their organization. Also email other organization owners. Look at what they have to offer, and what you need. I can start an association tomorrow, and have 100 members. Would that make me better or worse than any other association??? Research everyone you are thinking to join, and if you find one that gives you what you feel you need, good blessings. Don't let anyones opinion or bad experience deter you. What is good for you, just might not work for them

Thank you, seems very logical.

You are more than welcome!!

David,
I was a member of the AMBA up until last month. It was well worth the investment I paid to join. One of the biggest benefits was the up to date news that Cyndee - the owner - would send out regarding industry changes, Medicare regulations, and so forth.
There are other associations out there as well. HBMA is a good one - but costs more than AMBA. Also, Linda Walker, a great member of this forum, offers a similiar group called PMRNC - www.billerswebsite.com
Just my two cents!

Hi David,
I am a active member of AMBA for the last two years. As a new biller coming into the industry; I found the information and the contacts very resourceful. It helps being apart of something that others don't mind sharing there knowledge just the same as Michelle and Alice. I have actually ventured out into being a board member with my local chapter with AMBA.
Research it out and identify what you want to get out of the association, thus far I can honestly say I am pleased. But I also belong to other organizations as well because when you are started out; you just can't get enough information and I find it being worth my while to be associated with people in the same business. :)
Good Luck,
Cynthia
