Need Help: Credentialing Services
« on: August 10, 2011, 02:18:08 PM »
Hi all!

I've been so busy, thus why I've been MIA, but I'm back and have a quick question. An old co-worker called me with a lead for her Rehab Center that's owned by a hospital. She does their collections in house, and wanted to know if I would want them as a client for all their credentialing. While, I offer credentialing services, and my business partner is a pro at it. We've never just done credentialing for a facility, usually it's included with our group practice clients. I've put a call into our attorney on the contract part, but honestly I don't want to overpay or overthink this. I also don't want to lowball ourselves, as I was told they want someone who can do everything for them. They want to outsource all their credentialing.

Any suggestions?

Have you estimated the time you might need, how many carriers? Will you offer fee schedule negotiations, etc.  Oh but one piece of advice.. If you are doing contract review's..it's in best interest of you and your client to have the attorney retained BY the provider, not you.  CYA :)

Hi PMRNC,

Thank you so much for those suggestions. I've included time and the number of providers. I did think about fee schedule negotiations as well. Didn't think about having the attorney retained by the provider for contract reviews, will definitely do that.

So very helpful. I've spoken with the COO, and they are sending me over all the information I requested. Sounds promising. I wonder if we should invest in the intellisoft software now? It's a pretty big facility, and I have a feeling it's going to be a ton of work, but the COO seems pleasant enough.
