Fee for Service...???
« on: May 07, 2009, 01:31:55 AM »
Hello, I decided how much I would charge the providers in my area for full practice management. However, I have a potential client who wants me to file only Medicare claims electronically and do nothing else.. He only has 30-60 transactions a month.. How do I know what to charge??

Any advice would help.

Thanks,

Chris ???

You can calculate the amount of claims he sends per month, and the amount. Determine how straight forward the claims are and set up a flat fee. I would still institute a clause in case his Medicare case loads doubles.

If they strictly want you to file the claims, no posting payment or followup, then you might want to charge a per claim fee.

I also like Charlene's suggestion of a flat fee.  Then you know what you can count on each month, and you don't have to count claims.  (With the clause in case his caseload doubles!)
