Today I had a meeting with a Home Health Care Agency to do there billing for Medicare  and I'm trying to see if this company is getting over or if I misunderstood the email. See the email I posted below. Thanks

This is the email the company responded back. (Tammy, $23 per pts some time is 4 to 6 weeks or 8 weeks.)   So my main concern is the company stating I will be paid $23.00 per patient per week I bill or is the company saying $23.00 per patient and I bill 4-6 or sometimes 8 weeks and that's all I will get paid til a new patient come on. Please help me understand before signing this contract

Is this what they are proposing?  Why aren't you setting the rates as the billing company? This is a bit confusing.

It looks like they are trying to say that its $23 per patient.  Then again it looks like 23 patients per every 4-6 weeks.

With my company I never let the client tell me how much they are going to pay. I am all about negotiating but they are not going to determine how much they want to pay me and think I'm going to do a bunch of work for pennies .

The best thing to do is call them and ask them exactly what they are trying to do so there is not assuming or speculations.

I have to agree with Alicia, if you let the client negotiate your fees you'll never be paid what you are worth. I always like to point out that we don't negotiate with our mortgage company, electric company, accountant, etc.. why would we do so with a medical billing company?  State your rates, what they include, explain only what that rate is for and nothing more. A client who will try and negotiate you down is one you don't want.  JMHO

Thanks to all who responded. The company is just starting out as a Home Health Care agency and they did not want to pay a percentage because there software company also informed them that they could do the billing for them put would have to pay a percentage.  I'm a little skeptical so this may be one contract I turn down. Because it's not about money it's about getting paid for my worth and the time I spent doing the billing.

I agree, it looks like $23 per patient.  To me that means the 4-6 weeks worth of billing.  That is a weird way to do it.  But I agree with the others, you need to name your price.
