Is there a big list of some kind that has all the insurance companies with phone numbers and addresses?

Hi Joyce,

Not that I know of.  We found that our list of insurance company phone numbers grew from our first accounts.  Usually we got photocopies of the insurance cards which have the mailing address and customer service phone number on the back.  This was entered into the practice management system with the insurance company information.  We can then print a list of all the insurance companies and phone numbers. 

When we have to find the number for an insurance company that we don’t have, we first look online on the www.whitepages.com  or to see if they have a website with contact info.  If we can’t find it there and we don’t have any other clues, such as the number for a company with the same name at a different address, we go back to the provider and ask if they have a photocopy of the ID card you can get the number off.

Thank you so much.  One of our locations copied only the front of all the patient cards.  Now, we're having to wait until we can get them all back in for copies of the back.  We were looking for a quick fix.
