TENS Unit Rental
« on: October 06, 2011, 03:15:38 PM »
Hope someone can help. We have been doing TENS Units as a purchase and now for this patient we need to do a rental for 2 months, then we can convert to purchase.  My question is we have been approved to start the 2 month rental as of 10/06/2011.
How do we bill for this? Do we use code E0730 RR  10/06/2011 - 11/05/2011 RR and 11/06/2011 - 12/05/2011 RR on the same claim?  Is this even the correct way to bill this?
Do we wait and bill each month separately?  We really need help on this one.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I am not a coder so I'm hoping someone else with experience will answer this post.  But I don't believe you can bill for the November (or second month) until that month arrives.  I believe you can only bill for the month rental after the month.  Otherwise I believe you have it.  Bill for one month rental at a time with the RR modifier.
