: 1 patient- 2 E&M svcs- same specialty- different TINs-different diagnosis

I work for a single specialty department where each physician has a different Tax ID number. They have different sub specialties and would like to know if two physicians of the same specialty with different Tax ID numbers can receive reimbursement for E&M services if they see a patient on the same day, but bill different diagnoses.  I know Medicare only pays for one E &M per pay per specialty, but what about commercial payors.

Each commercial carrier has different guidelines, but I do think that most will cover if it is two different tax ID's AND two different diagnoses.
