: HELP!!!!!
: anita May 05, 2009, 04:56:47 PM
I work in a private practice PT group.  I have my own provider numbers (not the problem).  When I am on vacation, another PT fills in for me who also has his own provider numbers.  Can he bill under my provider number when he is in my clinic?

No, he is supposed to use his own numbers as the rendering provider.  The problem is that most providers who fill in for another provider are not credentialed under their groups so payments get messed up.  We face this problem with some of our providers who want to go on vacation, or have had to have surgery, etc.  They want to just bill under their numbers but it is illegal.
