Coding for marsupialization of Gartners Duct abscess

Tameka79:
Happy New Year Everyone! Hope all is going well.  I was wondering if anyone could help me with coding marsupialization of Gartners Duct abscess.

I was thinking about using  cpt 57135 but am not sure.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

kristin:
I just had a Gartner's Duct cyst removed this summer. Not fun, lol! But, the cyst was completely excised, and did not have a marsupialization, which is different. My gyn coded 57135, so my thought is that is not the same code you would use.

Tameka79:
Thank you Kristin. I was looking at this one.  I have to query the Dr. to see if he excised it.

kristin:
Definitely do. If he did excise completely, you have the code. If he just drained it, and sutured back the walls of the cyst, you need to look at something other than the 57135.
