I'm looking into an attorney to look up my contract and my compliance  plan and his fees are $240/hr

Really depends on where you live, closer to larger cities it's going to be more. Fees can range from $150-$500 per hour. You can also check with your state's legal society and they can actually tell you the average hourly rates. Also you can check to see if the attorney has annual/retainer like fees instead. If you are looking just for contract drafting or info on a specific issue, the hourly rate is inline, but for the long haul it can sometimes be MORE beneficial to do a retainer so the attorney can uphold/manage/amend contracts, and be available when needed. I keep my attorney on retainer, to me it's added insurance and I don't have to think too much when I add a new client and need a contract amended or customized, plus if I need him for any reason, letters, provider not paying, etc.. just a phone call away.

I did a program call legalshield, I hope it works for us we can get 10 contract reviewed in a month for free I think it is good but I am not sure.
