Out of Area Billing
« on: June 04, 2009, 05:46:43 PM »
Do you recommend for agains taking on clients out of your home area?  I am in CA and have prospects in other states (East Coast) and I know it is doable with technology....Having them fax necessary paperwork to Efax or using Couriers and using a web based system is extra helpful too.  But is it not as customer service friendly since you can't make personal visits?  Should we avoid it?

I have had/have clients from all over East Coast. I've stuck with the East coast, but as long as you have services to offer them remotely and you follow state laws for each state you work in you can do it. :)
You can do a variety of things, An ASP networking solution (logmein.com or gotomypc.com) or windows remote desktop and then some offices have a VPN or an ASP based software solution already. If you have the means, then you have the opportunity.

I agree with Linda, as long as you can service them and do it well, and follow the state laws, I would go for it.
