payment posting
« on: October 18, 2009, 02:41:00 PM »
hello,

Can anybody tell me which way would be better to post insurance payments on patients accounts. When I get the EOBs for example, should i post them by the date I received the eob's or by the date the checks were printed by the insurance company.
Thank you

Michele

We always post the payment the date we are posting it (today's date).  We also file it based on the date posted (today's date).

Either way is fine as long as you stick to one method per database. I prefer posting the Date on the EOB but some of my clients like to use the deposit date so that it matches the deposit slip.
