: Billing for a stress test
: RundallS September 20, 2016, 12:52:35 PM
I have been told that you can't bill for a stress test unless you have the print out of the actual test scanned in the media tab for the patient. I could use some guidance on this as now I am getting different opinions on this.
Thanks.

So are you saying that you as the biller need to see proof that the stress test was actually done before you can bill for it?

That doesn't make much sense to me, because if I needed to see proof that every procedure, test, x-ray, and office visit was done before I billed it, I wouldn't be billing anything, for most of my remote work.

I guess I am not exactly clear on what you are asking, and if you are coming at it from a billing or coding perspective, or both.

Who is telling you this?  Your boss?  I agree with Kristen.  We bill for services that we are told were performed without actually seeing any results.  Not sure what you are asking exactly.
