Code for watching video
« on: February 23, 2015, 03:43:31 PM »
Mental health therapist would like to bill insurance for the time client's are in her office watching a video on DBT. I am wondering if 98960- Education and training for patient self-management by a qualified, non-physician health care professional using a standardized curriculum, face to face with the patient.

It appears from the description that the therapist must be present during the viewing.

Any comments appreciated.

Thank you,
Barbara

Yes, the therapist must be in the room as it's a "face-to-face" code.   I would think their liability insurance also wouldn't want them leaving a patient unattended anyway.
