Urgent Care - California Medicaid (Medi-Cal)

Hello,

We are a new urgent care facility in California. Since we are an Urgent care Facility, our POS code is 20. But it appears that E&M codes are not compatible with POS 20. I'm really clueless/helpless on how to bill out these Medi-Cal claims. Wanted to see if you guys know anything about Urgent Care POS issue with Medi-Cal. Please help.

Hmm that's not the case, E/M codes are dependent on the type of provider rendering services and not really the POS in this case at all. What codes are you billing and are these definately professional charges? Is the provider rendering service able to bill using E/M? Are you a Medi-Cal participting?  Can you provide more information on the type of denial/rejection you are receiving?
