Copay reimbursment
« on: July 27, 2010, 04:27:01 PM »
A patient currently has a large co-pay through her primary insurance. When I submit to the secondary, is the patient reimbursed for her co-payment of her primary insurance?

In most cases yes, depends on a few variables, like her deductible/copay with secondary, services. etc.

Depends on if the copay for the secondary policy is larger.  JK  Like Linda said, it depends on the secondary plan and how it pays.

I generally collect the copay off of the secondary insurance, since we are dropping the balance to the secondary.
