Trade Shows
« on: March 08, 2012, 03:59:09 PM »
Looking to get a booth at a trade show, but I don't know what to expect or really bring outside of brochures and business cards.

Can anyone give advice on what to take to something like this?

Thanks.

I know this will sound silly, but our first trade show we gave out magnets.  Even 12 years later we still get new patients from those initial magnets.

So, I would suggest a giveaway item that someone will pick up and USE or SEE often.  Subliminally they will retain the name of your company.  Never hurts to have a good slogan on it too.  Something like "We take the pain out of your medical billing!"

DMK,

Your idea makes perfect sense.  Thank you.  It is very interesting that even after 12 years, you still get new patients from those initial magnets.

Not silly at all!!  I've given out magnets back in the late 90's..with my old company name on it and I still get calls now and again.

ONE word of advice.. DO NOT MAIL the magnets.. EVER.  People don't realize but they can erase computer hard drives and some smart phones, that wouldn't be a great first impression. I know a biller who got a call from an irate office manager because the magnet in the envelope laid next to her phone and erased her phone.!

When I did a trade show or seminars, I gave away clear clipboards, I had transparent business cards made and I laminated all the clip boards with these laminated biz cards and my logo. They were a huge hit. I bought them bulk and then I had the cards printed on transparent backing, just peel and stick :)

Thank you to all who responded.  The Trade Show was yesterday and it went very good I have to say.  I was exhausted at the end though.  Never knew it could take so much work, but in the end it was worth it because I got my name out there with a lot of individuals and not just in healthcare.
