NC Medicaid Billing Licensed Home Care Agency
« on: September 02, 2009, 04:27:38 PM »
We are a speech therapy company in NC that bills Medicaid on the 1500 form and at independent practiioner rates.  Soon we will be licensed as a "Home Care Agency" in NC.  The rates for Home Health Services are listed as higher than those that we have been receiving and are billed on a UB-04 form.  My question is-Would we now qualify to bill for our services at the higher rate paid for Home Health Services in NC?

Thank You

Michele

Once you are licensed as a home health agency you will probably need to apply to Medicaid as a home health provider.  I'm assuming you are currently enrolled in Medicaid as a speech therapy provider.  Once you are set up with Medicaid as a home health agency you would bill on the UB04 at the higher rates.
